Introduction
DownSpell Buddy is an invaluable tool for Yahoo Spelldown players. It scans a game board, provides all possible solutions
that can be made from the letters in hand, places the words for you, and even autoplays!
DownSpell Buddy is feature rich and the most intuitive Spelldown solution available. It helps players build their vocabulary and
overall Spelldown skills. Not to mention it does personal ratings a world of good, too!

The Interface (GUI)
DownSpell Buddy has a unique layout that offers players an arrangement of options. Users who want to get right down to business should
waste no time and simply select the auto play button and, if they so choose, type in how many minutes they would like the bot to play
(zero results in the autoplay continuing until the user stops it). Have a little more time on your hands? Then press scan so that the gameboard
and available letters are "seen" by the Buddy. Now click solve and a list of possible words is generated into the solutions
box (complete with the score the word is worth!). Pressing the play button will result in the words being entered onto
the game board automatically. When everything is said and done and you're prepared for a new game, press clear so that it's ready to go. And
if you run across a word that is not being generated (but should be!) type it into the Dictionary box and click add to include it in the
dictionary. Similarly, delete any words you choose! Of course, if you'd rather the dictionary stop taking up space, simply press view and
it disappears. Press it again and it reappears.

Menu Options

The Options menu allows you to access DownSpell Buddy's settings and change them to suit your needs (see below). It also offers an opportunity to refer a buddy (tell a friend) about Downspell Buddy and/or request a new feature. |

The Help menu provides instructions on how to use DownSpell Buddy, a link to the Play Buddy Help Center, shortcuts to buy and register your copy, and a valuable Bug Report feature to use when DownSpell Buddy isn't working. But perhaps the most valuable feature here is the auto check at startup which automatically checks for any updates. |

How To Use
- Log on to Yahoo games with your username and password.
- Launch DownSpell Buddy when your game opens.
- Enter the letters into the Enter Text box then press Solve to be shown all solutions. The count will appear at the bottom
of every category letting you know how many words of that letter length were found.
- Browse the list of available words and pick one of your choice. You can then enter the solution manually or press play all and let
DownSpell Buddy enter all of the words for you.
- Clear the board when you're ready to begin a new round!

Optimizing Performance
- GUI Interaction: Users can also manually type in letters into the Letters box then press 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 (pertaining to the number of letters entered) and solve. This can be handy when manually playing a word game other than Spelldown.
- The Dictionary: Not sure if you already added or deleted a word from the dictionary? Click on the view menu and select either option and all added or deleted words will appear in the corresponding boxes.

HELP!
It won't recognize the game window
Double-check that you have the newest version available. Do this by using the check for update feature under the Help menu on the Buddy. Also, the "News" section at the top of this page has a link to "Updated Buddies." Here you can see if the Buddy has been recently updated and why.
Now make sure that all the system requirements for the Buddy are met. These include Windows XP or Vista, Internet Explorer, Sun Java, and appropriate display settings.
It won't work
First, go to the Help menu on the Buddy and visit the Troubleshoot page to see if your solution is there. No luck? Select the Bug Report feature under the HELP tab on the Buddy. Fill in the required fields, capture the screen, and then send it. Play Buddy Support will receive it and respond to you via e-mail.

Registering your software
DownSpell Buddy is trialware and it cannot be used once the seven day trial period has expired. To avoid losing a great buddy, buy your copy by using the Buy Now option in the HELP menu or use the link given below. If you have already purchased and need help registering, please click here.
